About This Wine
On the nose: Aromas of red, blue and black berries, portobello mushrooms and rare meat are accented by notes of toasted walnuts and saffron.
On the palate: A velvety soft entry with flavors of rich, dark fruit and cedar are complemented by hints of miso paste and cardamom followed by full, chewy tannins.
Blend: 96% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Cabernet Franc
The 2020 growing season began with a dry winter and mild spring that led to early budbreak. A few heat spells in May pushed the vines through bloom and later at veraison, with perfectly moderate growing conditions in between. Warm, sunny weather prevailed through September and produced red grapes with excellent ripeness and deep fruit character. The barrels normally destined for our Oakville single-vineyards ultimately became the foundation for this carefully crafted Cabernet masterpiece.
